A. A. Dhand is an award-winning British crime novelist and screenwriter, a Sunday Times bestselling author, and a proud son of Bradford — the city that inspires much of his work. He is the creator of the internationally acclaimed Harry Virdee novels, adapted for television as Virdee for the BBC, where he also has a new original drama currently in development.

His other novels, including The Chemist and The Blood Divide, are in television development.

Dhand’s storytelling is known for morally complex characters and propulsive narratives that explore identity, belonging, and power in modern Britain.

​

A former community pharmacist, he holds an honorary Doctor of Letters (D.Litt) for services to literature and storytelling.
